The lunar orbiter Chang'e-1 blasted off on board a Long March 3A carrier rocket at 6:05 pm (local time), as it began its journey to explore and map the moon's surface. The Golden Chariot, Karnataka's first luxury tourist train, has made its debut on the tracks. The train has 11 plush and fully air-conditioned passenger cars, two restaurant cars, a bar cum conference hall, a gym car and a staff car. It was made with an investment of Rs 50 crore. Starting from Bangalore, the train's trip will end at Goa, where it's linked with the Deccan Odyssey. Its fare for one person for 7-day journey is $3395 (about Rs 1.36 lakhs) during the peak season.
